Product Detail

It's 1947, and you're part of the booming Hollywood movie - making scene. But beware! There might be communists in your small production studio, sneaking 'un - patriotic' propaganda into your films. Can you craft enough movie masterpieces before your studio shuts down? Or will you be suspected and kicked out of the industry? Hollywood 1947 is an engaging social deduction and light strategy board game for 1 - 9 players that takes just 20 - 40 minutes to play. The game comes in a book box and includes 15 genre posters, 9 film strips, 9 custom star dice, 4 sculpted tokens, 6 propaganda cards, 9 job cards, and 9 loyalty cards. Each player can be a patriot, a communist, or a Rising Star, with a distinct job. These jobs influence the movies made each round. At the round's end, players with stars on their dice add a card to the movie. The added cards are shuffled, one is removed, and the rest are revealed. The team with the most revealed cards wins the round. The first team to win 4 rounds takes the game, while the Rising Star tries to stretch the game to 7 rounds. Remember, in this game of deception and deduction, you must always keep your cards and loyalty secret.
  • Let's Create Blockbuster Movies: Hollywood 1947 simulates the intense atmosphere of the 1940s communist witch - hunt in the movie industry, offering a thrilling social deduction and light strategy experience for 1 - 9 players.
  • Roll the Dice and Take Action: Players are divided into teams of Patriots, Communists, or The Rising Star, each with a unique job that shapes the movies in every round.
  • Score a Cinematic Victory: Play through multiple rounds. Secretly add cards to the movie to tip the scales in your team's favor. The team with the majority of revealed cards at the end of the round is victorious.
  • Decipher the Secrets: Be cautious and keep your cards and loyalty under wraps. Hollywood 1947 is all about deception and deduction. Win 4 rounds to claim the game, or if you're the Rising Star, aim for 7 rounds.
  • Comes with All You Need: The game includes a variety of components like 15 genre posters, 9 film strips, 9 custom star dice, 4 sculpted tokens, 6 propaganda cards, 9 job cards, and 9 loyalty cards, neatly packed in a book box.

How to play Hollywood 1947: First, divide players into Patriots, Communists, or the Rising Star. Each player gets a job card that affects the movies made each round. Shuffle all the cards and distribute them as needed. Start the round. When it's time to add cards to the movie, players with stars on their dice can contribute a card. After adding the cards, shuffle them, remove one, and reveal the rest. The team with the most revealed cards wins that round. Keep playing rounds until a team wins 4 rounds (or 7 rounds if the Rising Star succeeds). Things to note: Never show your cards or loyalty to other players. This is a game of deception, so keep your strategies secret. Maintenance advice: After each game, put all the cards, dice, tokens, and posters back into the book box. Keep the box in a dry place to prevent damage to the components. If the cards get dirty, you can gently wipe them with a soft, dry cloth.
