Sleuth is an ever - lasting classic deduction board game crafted by the legendary designer Sid Sackson. The game revolves around a thrilling hunt for a missing gem. Before the game kicks off, one of the 36 Gem cards is secretly removed and hidden. The remaining 35 Gem cards are then distributed among the players, with some extras put on public display. Players must rely on logic, deduction, and the cards from the Search deck. They'll question their opponents for clues, racing to be the first to identify the missing gem and claim victory. Since its debut in 1971, Sleuth has seen numerous editions over more than 50 years. For the 2024 edition, Eagle - Gryphon Games brought in Jake Seven, an American - born artist and art instructor based in Hobart, Tasmania. Jake, known for his large - scale public and private murals, gave the game a fresh artistic touch. He says Tasmania's unique natural landscape, shaped by complex geology, sea - level changes, and glacial activity, is a rich source of inspiration. The game features Agates, Topaz, and Sapphires, all found in Tasmania's diverse terrain. The box cover and its gemstones showcase Tasmania's mysterious natural history, unique ecology, bright colors, and dramatic environment. The game components include 54 Search Cards, 36 Gem Cards, 1 Pad of Information Sheets, and 1 Rulebook. All the components are made of paper.

To play Sleuth, first, remove one Gem card randomly and hide it. This is the missing gem you'll all be trying to find. Then, distribute the remaining 35 Gem cards among the players and put the extra ones on display. Each player takes turns using the Search deck cards to question opponents for evidence. Use your logic and deduction skills to figure out which gem is missing. The first one to correctly identify it wins! When handling the game, be gentle with the paper components to avoid tearing. Keep the cards in a dry place to prevent damage. If the cards get dirty, you can use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe them. And remember to always shuffle the cards well before each new game for a fair play.
