Defcon 1 is an exciting historical and political wargame set in the Cold War era from 1950 to 1990. Play it on a gorgeous 90 x 60 cm game board. This strategic board game offers a unique gameplay that varies with the number of players. With 2 players, it's a Frontal Shock Game; with 4 players, it turns into a semi - cooperative version; and in the 5 - player game, it becomes a secret objective game. The game unfolds in five distinct phases: Initialization, R & D, Political, Production, Atomic, and Warfare. Players get to control five different blocs, including three major ones (the Atlantic Alliance, the Warsaw Pact, the Non - Aligned Movement) and two minor ones (France and China).
To play Defcon 1, start by setting up the 90 x 60 cm game board. Each player chooses one of the five blocs - three major and two minor. The game goes through five phases: Initialization, R & D, Political, Production, Atomic, and Warfare. In each phase, follow the rules for actions related to that phase. For example, in the R & D phase, you can develop new strategies. Remember, the gameplay changes based on the number of players. With 2 players, it's a more direct battle. With 4 players, you'll need to cooperate to some extent. And in the 5 - player game, keep your secret objective in mind. When you're done playing, store the game in a dry place to prevent damage to the board and pieces. Avoid bending the game board or losing any of the small pieces.
